Daniel Simons is legal counsel for Greenpeace International, responsible amongst others for media law and freedom of expression issues. He studied international and European law in Amsterdam, before earning a masters degree Columbia University in New York. Daniel joined IMLA while in his previous position as legal officer with ARTICLE 19, where he worked on freedom of expression and media law reform issues in Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
