I have just completed a 4 year law degree at Dicle University, Diyarbakir, Turkey. Since 2001 I have also been 
working for the Human Rights Association (IHD) in Diyarbakir, undertaking apprenticeship in all areas
 (law, women's rights, prison, torture, etc.), and providing co-ordination of, and training
to the IHD students commission. I have been involved with the Kurdish Human Rights Project
 since 2002, co-ordinating and translating for human rights and political delegations from Europe. 
I have also worked with the International Commission of Jurists, RAFTO (Norway), Lawyers without Borders
(Sweden) and the Institute for International Assistance and Solidarity (IfIAS) in this capacity. I was employed 
for a year at the Dicle News Agency and currently undertake freelance work as a reporter with Voice of America.
 I have been involved in organising many conferences on human rights, peace
and intercultural dialogue, most recently these have included Peace in the Middle 
East and People's Right to Peace (June 2005) and the International PEN conference 
in Diyarbakir on linguistic rights (March 2005).
